The Digital Print Strikes Back

As some of you may recall from last season, Mary Katrantzou’s designs are full of mad, loud prints and unusual shapes, such as that whole cell phone button dress that nearly made my head explode, and that terrible, horrible thing Elizabeth Banks wore to the Met Gala.  While I applaud creativity and innovation in the fashion industry, I do not applaud shows based off Postage Stamps of the World in digital print combined with some of the most unflattering silhouettes I’ve seen on a runway.  This show was a bewildering train of eye-shattering prints and weird shapes, mostly at the same time.

What bothers me about these combinations of crazy prints and unusual silhouettes is that this is supposedly Fashion with that capital F.  It is instead retina-destroying hideousness.

This will be quite image heavy.
